Electrical Rudder and Brake Pedal Units for FbW Contact Us

Electrical Rudder and Brake Pedal UnitLORD provides fly-by-wire electrical pedal units, rudder pedal sensors, pedal dampers and friction units. Our pedals are custom designed to specific platforms according to OEM flight deck needs. LORD engineers work with our customers to validate requirements for each pedal unit application.

Our fly-by-wire pedal solutions use RVDTs, LVDTs, potentiometers and resolvers to capture motion and interface with the flight control computer. All electrical components used are mature components - logging flying hours for more than 20 years. Also, we participate on the SAE A6 committee for ARP 6252 - "Rudder and Brake Pedal Unit General Requirements for Fly by Wire Transport and Business Aircraft" - and have a comprehensive knowledge of certification requirements. All of this adds up to LORD having the technology, experience and capability to provide a more optimized unit in terms of system weight, cost, aircraft integration, pilot acceptance, reliability and maintainability.

We are accustomed to working with both aircraft and system manufacturers in a collaborative environment. When coupled with our extensive and capable on-site test facility, LORD is able to support all FbW systems requirements, from development to certification, within the program schedule.

LORD is both an OEM and MRO solution provider - if you are owner or operator, please visit our MRO Services page.
