The Torque-Link-LXRS consists of a torque "collar" that contains the necessary electronics to measure strain and torque on rotating shafts. Measurement of static torque is also possible without the rotation of the shaft. Communication can be wireless or inductive and power can be supplied via battery (MIL spec available), inductive loop, or energy-harvesting from the shaft motion.
Our wireless torque collar is highly reliable due to the strain gauges being integrated into the collar and encapsulated. Further, redundant strain gauges are available and long wiring runs (which are subject to failure) are avoided. The Torque-Link-LXRS is proven in oil and gas and industrial applications and has been used successfully used in several flight test applications.

LORD also offers torque monitoring solutions for small shaft applications. Rotational measurement is achieved via reluctance or hall effect transducers. Because the transducers monitor ferrous or magnetic targets on the shaft - no shaft contact is necessary. Rotation across a coupling, section of the shaft, or relative to a reference “tube” is measured dynamically. Also, it is possible to include misalignment monitoring.
