Thermoset™ ES-40/37 Epoxy System Where to Buy
Product Information
Thermoset™ ES-40/37 epoxy system is a two-component, general purpose system for use in many applications including adhesive, laminating and electrical/electronic insulation.
Handling and cured properties of the two-component epoxy system are dependent on the hardener used with Thermoset ES-40 epoxy resin.
Shelf Life
Shelf life of Thermoset ES-40 resin is six months when stored at 25°C in original, unopened container. If stored or shipped at cooler temperatures, Thermoset ES-40 resin may crystallize. If crystals appear, gently warm resin at 50-60°C to melt crystals before mixing with hardener.
Shelf life of Thermoset Hardener No. 37 is two years when stored in a well ventilated area at 25°C in original, unopened container.
Features and Benefits
FDA Compliant – ingredients contained in Thermoset ES-40 epoxy resin and Thermoset Hardener No. 37 are permitted for food contact under FDA food additive regulations (21CFR175.300) when material is properly proportioned, mixed, applied and cured. Materials are only in compliance with FDA regulations when using a mix ratio of 100 parts resin to 54 parts hardener, by weight.
Flexible Bond Strength – provides high bond strength for use as an adhesive to a variety of surfaces. Rigidity of bond may be varied depending on mix ratio. A 1:2 (resin to hardener, by weight) ratio will yield a relatively flexible bond; a 3:2 ratio will provide a rigid bond.
